You don’t HAVE to bring anything, but we recommend the items below to ensure you get the best experience possible:
Of course, your booking is very flexible; you have until midnight, the night before your trip to cancel your booking for a full refund. You can also change your booking to another day or add/remove passengers.
This can all be done form your confirmation email. Either select ‘change booking’ or ‘cancel booking’
While we accommodate most disabilities, only you can judge if you will be able to board our boats. We usually say that if you can get in and out of a car yourself, walk a short distance on uneven ground and step up and down, you should be fine. Our friendly crew will be on hand to assist. If you have any questions or would like more information, just give us a call.
Every person is different, but we will do our best to help. Sometimes people find it easier to cope by boarding first/last, or to sit at the front where they do not feel surrounded by people. We want everybody to have a good time, so if you have any concerns, please call us to see how we can help. Just be aware that once the boat has left, it does not return for an hour.
Don’t worry, we will be expecting you as our crew have a list of all passenger names for each trip. If you booked on a laptop and can take a photo of your confirmation/booking on your phone, that’s great, but don’t worry if you can’t, we will find your booking.
Yes, there is a large National Trust car park (free for members), with plenty of parking. It does get busy in the summer, so allow extra time for your arrival. We will send you directions with your tickets when you book. There are lots of National Trust car parks in the area, so make sure you come to Morston.
We generally say that the temperature on the water is lower than on land, so we always advise you bring an extra layer. If there is a little bit of wind, it could be choppy, meaning there could be a little splash, so a waterproof coat is good to have just in case! If it is sunny, don’t forget your suncream!
Our boats depart from Morston Quay (NR25 7HB – What 3 Words – ///rebel.phones.roofer). There is a large National Trust car park (charges apply unless you are a member), café and toilets. There will be a link to Google Maps on your confirmation email. Please don’t go to Blakeney!!
Once you are parked, head towards the water where you will see our flag flying and a Bishop’s Boats representative. Most days we depart from our staging, which is a little further up the creek. You need to walk past the flags and over the bridges at the end of the car park. If we are flying the flag, come and say hi, as we may be boarding the boats from there, otherwise, just head straight over the bridges.
We have two, large, traditional wooden clinker built boats. They are open boats without a roof or toilet facilities.
There is a bus stop in Morton, just outside the Morston Anchor pub. From here, it is a short walk to our boats. The Sanders Coast Hopper bus goes past frequently.
Sometimes a seal trip is cancelled due to strong winds. We hate to cancel a trip, however your safety and enjoyment is our priority. We will try to keep you well informed by sending an email to you the evening before, to let you know if there is a possibility we will have to cancel. After reviewing the forecast and the actual conditions in the morning, we will send another email to confirm whether we are going ahead with the trip. You will be able to rebook your trip for another day or fully refund your tickets from your confirmation email. Otherwise, we are always on the end of the phone to help.
You have up until midnight the night before your trip to rebook for a different trip or fully refund your tickets.
All boats depart from Morston Quay (NR25 7BH). There will be a link to Google Maps on your confirmation email. Please do not go to Blakeney.
When it is busy, or when we need to board the boats from a different staging, we will have our flag flying with a representative from Bishop’s Boats to help guide you to the boat and answer any questions you have. If you see the flag flying, please stop and wait there to board your boat. If there is not a flag, head straight over the bridges to find our staging a little further up the creek.
The trip time you have booked is the time we aim to set off; therefore we ask you to arrive at Morston at least 20 minutes prior to this. It can take a few minutes to purchase your car park ticket and walk to the boat. Nobody wants to rush and stress – the trip is designed to be relaxing.
We always aim to depart on time, however sometimes we can be a few minutes late. We don’t want to rush your trip back if there’s something exciting to see! Please allow extra time after your trip in case we are having too much fun!
Don’t worry if you cannot print or download your ticket – we have a list of all the passengers we will be expecting. If you have a confirmation email or a photo from your laptop, that’s great, just to confirm you’ve booked the right day/trip.
The seals are loving life in their natural environment, therefore the amount of Common and Grey seals we spot will be different on every trip. We do expect to see plenty of seals and some pups from June through to September.

This was just amazing - repeatedly viewing the seal colonies gave us such a close view of these gorgeous content and playful creatures. Thank you Bishop Boat Guys. Bev SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a fantastic experience - knowledgeable crew who gave us interesting facts about the area and the wildlife. We felt safe and reassured by the safety briefing and the trip around Blakeney Point was great! Loved seeing the seals and the pups both on the point and in the water around the boat. A great way to spend an hour. Lorna EllisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wow -what a trip. We went on Monday 3rd August 2026 and we saw so many seals. We went two years ago and only saw a handful of seals in the water but this time we saw dozens and dozens on the sand banks and loads in the water. The crew shared little bits of info about the seals and took the times to go past the sandbank 3 times so everyone could see and take photos. It is a lovely boat trip even without the seals - but it was an exceptional experience. LiliTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Saw lots of seals and we seemed to stay in the area far longer than the other companies. LesleyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I've done the trip from Moreton to Blakeney point a few times, using whatever company came up first online, I never left a reveow for them because nothing stood out in either a positive or negative way, thus year however I used Bishops Boats and they stood out in wvery way, so here I am leaving a 5 star review. From the booking to arriving at Blakeney point, I could not have asked for more from what turned out to be some tbe the kindest and most informed people I've dealt with. Furstly: KATE, and I hope she reads this! Kate was outstanding, firstly helping to book us in over the phone because I couldn't get my Internet to work, then on the day... we got stuck in traffic and really don't think we would make it, we rang an hour before our boat was due to leave to say we didnt think we would make it, Kate checked in with us evey 15 minutes after we made that call, offering advice on roads, parking and talking us through exactly where to go and what to do on arrival to save as much time as possible, her help made it possible for us to catch the boat, which was waiting for us as we sprinted down to the water.. we had already paid and so this really was an act of genuine kindness from Kate's. Once on the boat I noted that the safety talk and safety features of the boat pointed out were not something I had experienced on previous trips. The gentleman on board (who's name i have forgotten) was exceptionally knowlegable and happily answered any questions that people had. The skipper too deserves a mention, we had the opportunity to veiw the seals several times from several positions, turning the boat when children wanted a better look at the seals swimming. If you are booking the trip to Blakeney point I recommend using this company because whilst I have never had a bad experince with any of the other companies none of them compared to this one. Clare ForrestTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. On a beautiful day we joined Bishops Boats for a trip out to Blakeney to see the seals. We chose them because of the ease of booking online - yes, it cost slightly more than the other trips but it's worth it for the lack of hassle. We loved the proper wooden boat, the trip and the way the skipper kept circling so we could easily see the basking seals. It was a lovely day. DCG123Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really enjoyed the seal trip with Bishop's Boats. Staff were very friendly and were actively directing us to the correct moorings and the tide level meant it had to be changed. Staff on the boat were friendly and knowledgable. We saw lots of deals as well! Kees WielemakerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Prachtige tocht, met goede uitleg aan boord. De zeehonden van heel nabij gezien. Ellie-Mae McClueTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a brilliant hour on the sea thanks to Bishop’s Boats. I was quite nervous beforehand, but I was very reassured by their kind staff. We saw lots of seals on the bank, as well as some popping their heads up and down near the boat. Even though it did get bumpy at one point, I still felt safe in the boat. The weather was perfect too 😍 would 100% recommend, even if you’re a nervous sailor like me!
Cruise through the beautiful waters of Blakeney Point and encounter both grey and common seals in their natural habitat. Depending on the season, you may spot playful seal pups, large seal colonies basking on the sandbanks, curious seals swimming alongside the boat, and a variety of coastal birds including terns. The trip also offers stunning views of the protected Blakeney Point nature reserve and North Norfolk coastline. Which includes the iconic Blakeney Point Watch House and the Blakeney Point Lifeboat House.
* Common seal pups are usually seen from June to August, while Grey seal pups arrive from late October through to January.
The best way to see the Blakeney Point seals is with Bishop’s Boats, who have been operating since 1965! Blakeney Point, on the North Norfolk coast, has one of the largest Grey seal colony’s in England. Common seals are also spotted hauled out on the sandbank where they have their pups from June until the end of August. Let us welcome you on board where our skippers will spend plenty of time getting close to the seals, which will either be basking on Blakeney Point or popping up around the boat. This is the closest you will ever get to see seals in their natural habitat.
